We investigate Ottoman multi-textual manuscripts and explore the early modern Ottoman culture of learning.

We created a corpus of Ottoman texts.

We present editions of six Ottoman miscellanies and the 16th-century encyclopaedia Netaicü l-Fünun.

We created indices and annotations which are beneficial for research in the field of Ottoman studies and beyond.

Our project is grounded in a combination of traditional Ottoman philological approaches and up-to-date text technological methodologies.

Our project is conducted in the spirit of open source and open access. The texts in the corpus are available to the scientific community under an open license in TEI-XML and using a pulbicly accessible web interface. This will enable other scholars to do further analyses and to reuse the material.

Our project was carried out at the Institute for Near Eastern Studies at the University of Vienna and technically supported by the Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities at the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
